I have talked to so many people the past week about some of the recent events and drugs in our community that are killing young people. People I’ve even grew up with in this community have passed away because of drugs. It’s just feels like a slap in the face because things have been going really well for some time. But we shouldn’t allow it to derail our progress. It’s time for some zero tolerance from everyone.

Also these past couple days I’ve also talked to Major Branch, Captain Dunlap and Lieutenant Day about our upcoming meeting this Tuesday at the South Norfolk Library starting at 7:00 p.m. I’ve asked for their support and their time this Tuesday evening and they responded eager to help.

So this Tuesday evening Lieutenant Day, Chesapeake Gang Unit and Vice Narcotics will be attending the meeting to answer questions and to ask for everyone’s continuous support.

This is a proactive meeting to help address people’s concerns and create awareness of the issues at hand in our area. So I hope all of you will attend and remember how valuable these meetings are monthly and everyone’s time.

Meeting location: South Norfolk Library starting at 7:00 p.m.

Again, hope you attend.
